A round character has 3D qualities of real
people, have lots of traits and
complexities. A round character also
encounters conflict and will change and
grow. They seem much more realistic and
you get to know these characters.
Jin Wang from the book American Born Chinese is a good example of a round character. Jin has many traits and shows many different sides to himself throughout the story, for example when he develops a crush on Amelia Harris. He begins to form a conflict not with another person, but a conflict with himself about how and who he really is. He tries to become someone he's not and once he does achieve that, he realizes and accepts himself for who he is.
Soma Yukihara from the anime Shokugeki no Soma is an example of a round character because he goes through many conflicts throughout the show. As he is put through these many obstacles, he not only becomes a better chef, but also has a better mindset now. He continues to try to make himself to the number one seat of the best chef. He continues to do many shokugekis with other chefs and inspires other chefs.
Flat Character
A flat character is like a paper doll, only 2D. Flat characters only have one or two key personality traits and does not undergo any major changes or growth. A flat character usually supports the main character

Amelia Harris from the book American Born Chinese is a very good example of a flat character. Amelia is simply just a character made to add drama and conflict between Jin and Greg in which it leads to Jin wanting to change himself. She is just a supporting character who does not undergo any change or growth.
Ryota Watari from the anime Your Lie in April is an example of a flat character because we don't learn much about him in the show. He simply is just a supporting character who happens to like Kaori, the main character. He is Kaori's lie in april.
Dynamic Character

A dynamic character is a character that undergoes an important inner change, for example a personality or attitude.

Jin has the following characteristics of a dynamic character when he changes from Jin to Danny and them back to Jin. He's a good example of a dynamic character since he goes through a change of going from one person to another. To build on this idea, in the end, Jin goes from wanting to change his race and himself in general, to accepting who he really is and appreciating in which what he was given.
Taiga Aisaka from Toradora is a good example of a dynamic character because Taiga's mood changes constantly throughout the show. This is because she is considered a tsundere, a type of character development in which a character is often more hostile and cold to someone and gradually shows a somewhat warmer side over time

Static Character
A static character is a character who undergoes little to no change and does not grow or develop

The herbalist wife is a good example of a Static character because she doesn't go through any changes. She only appears throughout the book once or twice, supporting Jin's character. She does not play a super major role in the story like Monkey King does, but just talks to Jin about himself and what he plans to be.
Kazuma from the anime Norgami is a good example of a Static Character because he does not undergo any drastic changed throughout the show. His only main role is to simply be Bishamon's divine instrument, and at times will come in to help Yato, Hayori, and the others.
Protagonist

A protagonist is a main character of a work of literature, theater, or cinema. The protagonist is typically and often the hero or character that the audience is supposed to feel the most sympathy for
The monkey king is a great example of a protagonist because he somewhat is the hero of this story. All along he was just trying to help Jin realize who his true self was. Although he was an egotistical, arrogant monkey at first, in the end he helps Jin solve this man vs man conflict and gets Jin to think about his unnecessary wanting to change himself.
Yato from the anime Norgami is a great example of a protagonist because in the show he is a god, therefor granting wishes to people. Although he is the God of Calamity, he would much rather help out in a good way. He kills ayakashi, saves many people's lives, and god's throughout the anime.

An antagonist is usually a primary adversary of the protagonist and is sometimes the villian
Wei-Chen from the story American Born Chinese is a good representation of an antagonist because he lied for Jin when he wanted to go on a date with his crush Amelia. Wei-Chen becomes very upset and confronts his father, the monkey king, because of this. In result, he rebels and goes off back to the mortal world leaving his father behind.
Yuno Gasai is a great example of an Antagonist because Yuno is a yandere, someone who is love struck over a person and will do anything for them/to receive their feelings. Throughout the anime, Yuno slaughters and kills many innocent people just for her beloved Yukki.
